We send a good number of emails. We know. Maybe you get more from us than family and friends. We hope that you’ll take that as an indication of just how important these messages are to our campaign.
Because the truth is, presidential campaigns cost obscene amounts of money to win. It’s staggering.
And these emails, believe it or not, are how we raise most of the money it takes to run this campaign.
So when you see us start to run paid advertising, when you see us hiring staff in Maryland, please know that it is these emails that fund our work. Without them, there’s nothing – because Bernie isn’t begging rich people for money.
So that means from time to time we have to ask, and with tonight’s midnight FEC deadline looming, this is one of those days:
Right after this deadline ends, we’re going to report not just how much money we’ve raised, but also how many contributions make up that number.
We’re hoping to report a big number – and if you can chip in before this deadline ends, we will.
