The House of Representatives just took a key vote to move the Equal Rights Amendment one step closer to becoming law. The Democratic majority voted for it -- and unsurprisingly, 204 Republicans voted against it.

Democrats have been fighting to pass the Equal Rights Amendment for decades -- because giving women equal rights shouldn't be up for debate.

But once again, hundreds of Republicans stood up to say women don't deserve equal rights.

This vote proves that having a slim majority in the House isn't enough -- we have to get all these obstinate Republicans out of office.

We've got our work cut out for us in 2022. With folks like you on our side, we know we can accomplish anything -- but even though Republicans in Congress are fighting every day to stop Democratic progress, grassroots Democratic fundraising hasn't picked back up after the Georgia runoffs. Many of our supporters think the fight is over.

Women have always deserved equal rights, and it is shameful that we are still arguing over that fact -- but with such powerful Republican opposition in the House, it's going to be difficult, and we need to start working toward the 2022 election now.
