Everyone deserves a voice in our democracy, no matter their race, zip code, income, or political beliefs. Right now, the state legislature is facing a critical moment to turn the values of voting justice into law.

There is likely to be a floor vote on the Voting Rights Restoration Bill (HB 1078) in the Washington State Senate this week. Passing the Senate vote is the last step before it goes to the Governor's desk to be signed into law!

Voting rights restoration would bring over 20,000 Washingtonians back into our democracy. By re-enfranchising people on community supervision, HB 1078 would give a voice back to the people who are most impacted by our criminal legal system, including many of our Black and Indigenous neighbors who are disproportionately silenced by the current policy. When more people have a voice and vote in our democracy, environmental justice is uplifted and our communities are stronger and healthier.
