I hope you are doing well and staying safe!
The crisis on our southern border is growing worse by the day and President Biden and Vice-President Harris refuse to visit. Why? Because they don't want the White House press and other reporters exposing what we know is directly attributable to President Biden and the Democrats' failed open border policies.
Within hours of being sworn in, President Biden signed no fewer than five executive orders reversing Trump’s policies including stopping construction of the wall, resurrecting the Obama era ‘Catch and Release’ program and doing away with the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy. Despite encouraging these migrant youth to trek to our southern border, he never had a plan in place to handle this predictable emergency, and yes, this ‘crisis’ that has quickly become a 'black eye' for the Biden administration. As a reminder, President Trump never restricted the media to tour facilities for separated children even at its peak in 2018.
As a legal immigrant, what frustrates me is that as the emergency on our southern border worsens by the hour, Congressional Democrats just passed last week two bills that would grant amnesty to some four million undocumented illegals. On the very same day that the White House encouraged a ‘yes’ vote on these bills, President Joe Biden took to national television to proclaim that migrants should not come to our southern border.
Not surprisingly, this is the same Obama open border policy talk we heard in 2015 that resulted in a humanitarian crisis at our southern border by incentivizing a massive wave of child trafficking. Instead of getting the better life they were promised, Guatamalan children were exploited and forced into labor camps in Ohio under the threat of physical harm. Two adults received prison sentences for these crimes.

What should frustrate every American is the failure of any coherent strategy on addressing immigration policy.
Under Democrat leadership, legal immigrants like me and my family, get a slap in the face for abiding by U.S. laws that require waiting as long as two decades, spending tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees while contributing back into the system and paying our taxes. Yet those who make the decision to skip the line and come here illegally don’t even get a slap on the wrist. They never pay one red cent into the system and ironically if the Democrats get what they want, illegals may become U.S. citizens faster than we did and without ever contributing back or paying income taxesIf we are nothing, we are a country of laws,
As a lawyer, and as someone who waited my turn, I applaud President Trump for his defense of our borders and ensuring that our laws were complied with. As much as he may be loathe to do it, President Biden should finish completing the wall, in addition to stopping ‘Catch and Relase’ and requiring that migrants abide by the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy until their immigration hearing. Failure to do so will prove what Trump said in his press release; “The Biden Administration has turned a national triumph into a national disaster.”
