Another day, another reason for Joe Biden to fire Andrew Saul and David Black from the Social Security Administration: On Saul and Black’s watch, recipients of Social Security, SSI, and Veteran’s benefits have been pushed to the back of the line for receiving $1400 stimulus payments.

Donald Trump’s Social Security appointees―Andrew Saul and David Black―have been running the SSA in a way that undermines basic principles of our Social Security system. And now, thanks to the whistleblower, we have proof: Saul and Black have been putting illegitimate pressure on SSA Judges to wrongfully deny people with disabilities their earned Social Security benefits!

Social Security Works isn’t alone in calling on Biden to fire Trump’s SSA appointees. Senator Sherrod Brown and Representative John Larson, the chairs of the Social Security subcommittees in the House and Senate, have both joined our call.
Saul and Black want to dismantle our Social Security system to further Trump’s ideological agenda. Goings on at the Social Security Administration are often a low priority for Democrats in the White House―President Obama kept George W. Bush’s SSA commissioner through his entire first term. Congress never confirmed a successor, leaving a vacancy for Trump to fill. President Biden must not make the same mistake.
