John,
Yesterday, a mass shooting at a King Soopers grocery store in Boulder stole the lives of 10 people. There are no words that can adequately express the fear and sadness in the wake of this senseless attack. My heart is with the Boulder community.
A trip to the grocery store, working a shift at a massage parlor, sitting in your school's cafeteria, or going to see a movie should not cut anyone's life short. But our communities are under constant threat.
We mourn too many because weapons have been placed above the safety of our communities. Enough is enough.
The solution to the gun violence epidemic is not another round of thoughts and prayers. It is action. It is legislation. And it is getting dangerous weapons out of our communities.
I stand with Boulder, and I am carrying the victims, survivors, and their loved ones with me as I continue taking action so no other community ever feels this type of pain again.
In love and strength,
Diana
