Friend,
I remember what it felt like 11 years ago when President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law. It was such an exciting feeling knowing that Congress and our government can still do big things to help American families.
Eleven years later, we're back to doing big things for American families again -- but we're still making the Affordable Care Act better too, and that's just what we did when we passed the American Rescue Plan earlier this month.
We've helped make the cost of health care even more affordable by seeing premiums from the exchanges decreasing by $50 on average, and four out of five enrollees will be able to purchase a plan for $10 or less per month. That's a big deal, especially for the 14.9 million Americans who are currently uninsured.
That's not all: President Biden opened the Affordable Care Act exchange for a special enrollment period until May 15th. Today, in honor of the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, if you or someone you know needs coverage I really encourage you to take a look today at your options.
In Minnesota, you can visit the MNsure exchange to find options, but anywhere else you should check out Healthcare.gov to see your options.
200,000 Americans have already signed up for coverage during the special enrollment period, so I hope you take advantage of this opportunity and share the news with your friends, family, and neighbors too.
Thank you,
Dean Phillips
