Dear John,

Next week we’re launching our latest report, ‘The Green Central Banking Scorecard’, with an afternoon webinar featuring an expert international panel discussion.

As some of the most powerful public institutions around the globe, central banks have a huge role to play in combating climate and ecological breakdown. COVID-19 and the growing risk of pandemics has only reinforced the case for action. But are the world’s most systemically important central banks and supervisors stepping up to the challenge?

A+? D-? Our new report scores and ranks the climate policies of central banks in the world’s biggest economies, to highlight the leaders and call out the laggards.

John, will you join us next Wednesday lunch time for an exciting event? Our international panel of high-level experts will discuss key developments and next steps for central banks in driving towards climate-safe economies.

When: 1.30 - 3pm Wednesday 31st March

Where: Zoom

Zoom link will be emailed to you the day before the event, once you register

The webinar will kick off with a presentation of our new report, The Green Central Banking Scorecard, from lead author and Positive Money economist David Barmes, followed by a discussion with a panel of international experts and an audience Q&A.

- Yao Wang, Director General of the International Institute of Green Finance and Professor at Central University of Finance and Economics

- Danae Kyriakopoulou, Chief Economist and Director of Research at the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum

- Lucie Pinson, Founder and Executive Director of Reclaim Finance and Winner of the 2020 Goldman Environmental Prize for Europe

- Chair: Katie Kedward, Policy Fellow at the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)

We're looking forward to welcoming an international audience. This event will help kick off the all-important global conversation about how big finance can help drive the transition to climate-safe economies. The UN’s international climate conference, COP26, is happening in Glasgow this November, so all eyes will be on the UK to play a leading role.
