We are proud to announce the completion of a major milestone in our overhaul of WikiIslam! This means we are one step closer towards producing a fair, unbiased, yet skeptical resource on Islam! Here’s what you need to know…. What is WikiIslam?WikiIslam is an online resource, aiming to provide information on the faith from a skeptical perspective. The Wiki contains an extensive library of articles on Islamic topics and rulings with relevant Quranic verses, hadiths, and primary sources. For years, WikiIslam has been an indispensable resource for those wary of the apologism that has found its way into too many other sources. However, as the site was created and maintained by volunteers, the articles contained within could sometimes be incomplete, and occasionally, heavily biased. Our OverhaulMore recently, we at Ex-Muslims of North America took over ownership of the site, with the aim of molding it into something better. We know the importance of a resource that cuts through dishonest narratives on Islam. Both the political Right and the Left routinely exaggerate or even fabricate aspects of the faith, and thus accurate information is hard to find, even in scholarly sources. We decided to change this and began investing considerable time and effort into revamping the site, article by article, raising quality standards and objectivity. We are also translating the site into Arabic, and Urdu with an eye to having its content available in most languages common in Muslim countries. The overhaul is still ongoing, and new articles are being drafted every week. Check out more details of the revamp here.
