We’ve sent a number of fundraising emails during this first week, so we thought it important to take a moment to explain why these requests are so important.
Here is the truth:
The far-right Republican recall effort is funded by some of Donald Trump’s biggest donors, and now national Republicans are starting a committee that will allow them to raise and spend unlimited amounts of money.
Our campaign to stop them has received a record number of small-dollar donations from teachers, nurses, and others who oppose this recall — most of which come in response to emails like this one.
So when you see us on the air, when you see our numbers rise in the polls, when you see us beat this recall, it’s donations like this that make it possible. And it’s why we have to ask:
This recall attempt is led by a coalition of anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers, climate deniers and far right Republicans who want California to do less to recover from COVID. There is only one way we stop them … and that is together.
