Earlier this month, I re-introduced the People’s Justice Guarantee — a comprehensive, decarceration-focused resolution, developed in deep partnership with advocates, that outlines a framework for a fair, equitable, and just legal system.
We have the opportunity and responsibility to pursue bold, structural reforms that center the dignity and humanity of all people. And we can accomplish this by shifting resources away from institutions that perpetuate brutality and injustice, and investing in solutions that promote community health and safety.
The People’s Justice Guarantee offers a vision of true justice, healing, and accountability — and I am proud to have introduced a framework for transformative justice in this country.
