Friend, the Senate will begin consideration of the For the People Act on Wednesday.

Jennifer and her Democratic colleagues fought hard to pass this historic piece of voting rights, campaign finance, and ethics reform legislation through the House. With Republicans launching massive efforts in state legislatures to make it harder to vote, it's imperative that the For the People Act make its way to President Biden's desk as soon as possible.

But right-wing groups and special interest groups are mobilizing quickly to spread lies about the For the People Act. With the thinnest possible majority in the Senate, Democrats have little room for error, and we need grassroots supporters to help us show that the bill is popular.

Here's what the opponents of the For the People Act are standing against:

  • Ending partisan gerrymandering
  • A national voter registration program
  • Making super PACs disclose their donors
  • Requiring presidential candidates to release their tax returns
  • Limiting efforts to purge voter rolls

These policies are essential to ensure trust in our democratic institutions and continued access to the ballot box. The electoral reforms offered by this bill will give the American people a greater voice in their government -- a government that's supposed to be for and by the people.

Republicans and their special interest allies will stoop to the lowest level to stop us from enacting this bill. So we need to show them just how far on the wrong side of history they are.
