Friend, This Wednesday, March 24th, I will talk with Deth Im, Director of Training and Development at Faith in Action, and his daughter, Imani Im, about their stories and experiences, being people of faith who are navigating their Asian identities in the United States. This conversation is particularly critical in this moment. Hate crimes against Asian people have risen by 150%, with people over 60 often being the target. Last week, we saw the devastating results of anti-Asian sentiment when eight people lost their lives to a violent, hate-filled attack. We know the violence in Atlanta is not an isolated incident, but part of a pattern woven into the fabric of this country that results in deadly harm for BIPOC communities. In our conversation on Revolutionary Faith, I talk with Deth and Imani about their personal stories and also discuss how Faith in Action’s organizing connects to the experiences of many Asian communities. |
