We need our members to rise up during the Senate’s April recess and showcase the importance of the For the People Act (S. 1) – to senators’ constituents, to our country, and to our democracy. This bill is the boldest and most sweeping democracy bill introduced in decades, and it was just passed in the House of Representatives. Now we need the Senate to pass it, and for President Biden to then sign it into law.
Tomorrow, Tuesday March 23, at 6 PM ET (4 PM CT / 3 PM PT) join U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and our coalition partners at Declaration for American Democracy for a virtual advocacy training to prepare people to participate in and organize activist events to support the For the People Act!

We have a long way to go to fix what’s long been broken in our democracy. We need to improve our ethics standards for government officials, we need to restore and protect voting rights, we need to end the dominance of big money in politics, and we need to end gerrymandering so that our democracy is as strong as it possibly can be. The For the People Act is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to do just that, but we need your help to emphasize its importance to the Senate.
Senator Whitehouse will join expert democracy advocates to discuss our path to strengthening our democracy through the For the People Act and provide training for all the actions you can take during the April recess – either virtually or in your home communities – to support this nationwide movement. From organizing visibility events to signing up for in-district virtual lobby meetings, this training call will give you all the tools you need to urge the Senate to make passing the For the People Act a priority when they return to Washington, D.C.
