Did you hear? U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy gave himself an "A" for his handling of the US Postal Service.
While he breaks his arm patting himself on the back, let’s take a look at his record:
- U.S. mail deliveries are still facing unacceptable delays months after the problem first appeared, and he has yet to fix it.
- Under DeJoy's watch, the USPS reduced post office operating hours across several states, cut overtime for postal workers, and removed some of their blue letter collection boxes ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
- The USPS was unprepared for the holiday season surge in deliveries, leading to greater delays and shortages in the USPS workforce.
