When we launched our campaign to stop the far-right Republican recall attempt in California, we weren't sure what to expect. We didn't know if we could generate the small-dollar support needed to take on some of Trump's biggest donors.

But then, about 2 minutes after Governor Newsom's email, a doctor from Glendale donated $25 to get us started. Seconds later, a teacher from Elk Grove added $3 more. An office manager from Sausalito, an IT analyst from San Jose, and a home health care worker from Atascadero all made small-dollar donations shortly after.

Forty-eight hours later, more than 20,000 people chipped in... and we were on our way.

But our success has got national Republicans' attention, and the Republican Governors Association started "an entity that is allowed to raise and spend unlimited amounts of money."

So we've set a goal of another 5,000 donations by midnight tonight to cap off the first week of our campaign. Because that's how we fight back, and that's how we win. Together.
