Where are Trump’s tax returns? Why hasn’t Congress furthered the investigation into the Mueller report findings? Why haven’t we questioned the President about his stated intention to continue breaking campaign finance laws? Why does Congress stand by and do nothing while world leaders line Trump’s pockets, staying in his hotels to win his favor?

We are at a critical crossroads with a lawless president, and our leadership in Congress is failing us.

Republicans like Kevin McCarthy and Lindsey Graham gleefully make excuses for Trump’s blatant and continuous lawbreaking. Meanwhile, the Democratic leadership wants to “narrow the scope” of the impeachment inquiry and finish it as quickly as possible, despite the scope of Trump’s ineptitude.

Reminder: The Ukraine call happened merely a day after Muller testified before Congress. This is what happens when you don’t hold a lawless President accountable -- they believe they are above the law.

While Republicans have obfuscated and stonewalled, while Democratic leadership has dragged their feet, representatives like Al Green, Maxine Waters, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and our own AOC have led the call for impeachment for months.

The very foundation of our republic is threatened, nearly daily. The only way to break the cycle is for Congress to do their damn job -- NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.

This is why we need fighters in Congress. This is why we need representatives who put people before party every time. People who won’t stay on the sidelines and wait for party leaders and donors to tell them what to do -- people who will always do the right thing not because it’s popular or politically expedient, but because it is the right thing to do.

You’ll see a lot of emails about end of quarter fundraising goals today. And it’s true, grassroots organizations like ours depend on the support of $5 and $10 monthly contributions. But we’re looking at the headlines today and we see a different deadline. We have mere months before our first primaries and only a year to save our republic from these lawless, fascist ghouls.

We are at a crossroads. We have a lot of work to do in a short period of time to elect Congress that will actually do something about any of this. And with your support, we will.
