John --

2022 is going to be a make-or-break year for Democrats. With control of the Senate hanging in the balance, it's critical that we defend our Democratic majority — including the four Democratic women who are up for re-election.

That's right — ¼ of the Democratic women in the Senate are up for re-election this cycle. And with so few women in positions of power to begin with, it's critical that we do everything we can to keep these leaders in the Senate. That's why we're launching our Defend the Senate Fund.

For context, here are the four women who are up in 2022 — all of them are targets of the GOP:
  • Tammy Duckworth (D-IL): Senator Duckworth has been a champion for women in the Senate, and was the first woman to bring a baby onto the Senate floor! But thanks to Tucker Carlson, she's become a target of the right, and her seat is a GOP target for 2022.
  • Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV): Senator Cortez Masto is from the swing state of Nevada, and within days of her re-election launch, the GOP was on the ground running attack ads against her.
  • Patty Murray (D-WA): Senator Murray is a fierce opponent for the GOP, and we can't afford to lose her voice in the Senate.
  • Maggie Hassan (D-NH): Senator Hassan won election in 2016 by just 1,017 votes! Now, the Boston Globe is calling her “the most vulnerable Senate Democrat” in 2022 — and Republicans are taking note.

All four of these women are at risk of losing their seats in 2022, so we're doing all we can to help defend their seats from GOP challengers.

We won't lie — 2022 is going to be a tough year for Democrats. But with you by our side, we know that we can go the extra mile to defend these Democratic Women.
