Team,

The House of Representatives just reauthorized the Violence Against Women Act , and friend, this couldn’t have come at a more important time.

Domestic violence has skyrocketed over the course of the pandemic, as economic insecurity and necessary lockdown measures have trapped victims in potentially dangerous home environments. Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act will provide long overdue protections against gender-based violence.

But this fight isn’t over.

The Violence Against Women Act still faces a battle in the Senate, as many Republicans have voiced objections to all or part of this bill.

That’s why I’m reaching out today. Will you help us honor Women’s History Month by standing up and voicing your support for the Violence Against Women Act? [[link removed]]

The Violence Against Women Act was first signed in 1994, thanks to the work of then-Senator Joe Biden. But, in 2019, Republicans in the Senate forced the bill to expire.

It’s unconscionable that more than 25 years later, we are still fighting to take real action against gender-based violence.

This can’t wait any longer.

So right now, I’m asking: will you add your name today to be a citizen’s endorser of this critical piece of legislation? [[link removed]]

Thanks for standing with me on this important issue,
