Friend, we refuse to sit silently in the face of hate because Arizona Democrats recognize that the terror of white supremacy is a threat to all of us.
The hateful rhetoric and racist dog whistles that came from the former President and emboldened the far-right once again prove to have devastating consequences. Their pandemic conspiracy theories and hate speech has caused anti-Asian sentiment to skyrocket. In 2020, national hate crimes against Asian Americans increased by a stunning 150% — even as the number of overall hate crimes fell.
The violence that has taken place in a church in South Carolina, a grocery store in El Paso, a massage parlor in Atlanta, or a parking lot in Tucson are all a result of our nation failing to STOP the resurgence of white supremacy and domestic terrorism in our country.
Our fight against ALL racism and white supremacy must be inclusive. And we will continue to use our voice to raise awareness and to stand with the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.
We must all work together to create the nation that we must become.
