But now GOP state legislatures want to make sure that never happens again -- so they're passing laws that would restrict voting rights for the most marginalized communities.
Democrats are fighting to pass the For The People Act, a historic bill that would expand voting rights, end gerrymandering, and restrict dark money in politics at the federal level and cancel out all the anti-democratic GOP legislation coming out of the states.
But Republicans in the Senate are using the filibuster to hold the For The People Act hostage -- and we're running out of time!
