John,

Right now, we stand on the brink of yet another endless foreign conflict —
and the only thing that stands between Trump dragging us into war is a
Democratic Party and a Congress that’s willing to stand up to him.

American troops are headed to Saudi Arabia. Secretary of State Pompeo has
declared his intent to build a coalition to ‘counter’ Iran. Trump took the
stage in front of the United Nations to condemn Iran after pulling out of
the only diplomatic agreement stopping them from acquiring nuclear
weapons.

Trump does not care about maintaining international peace, and nearly two
decades of executive overreach has handed him the tools to start another
bloody conflict. Congress needs to take action, and we need powerful
progressive champions who are willing to do what’s difficult in Washington
right now.

[ [link removed] ]That’s why Justice Democrats endorsed Jamaal Bowman for New York’s
16th — because at his core, he stands for jobs and education, not bombs
and incarceration. When the war drums start getting louder, he’s not going
to back down. Help us send him to DC with a
$3
contribution before his critical end-of-quarter deadline:

Jamaal’s opponent doesn’t have the same conviction. Eliot Engel is a
warhawk who supported the Iraq War, handing over critical powers to an
overzealous President Bush and taking us down a path that we are not yet
free from today. Engel has also voted against President Obama’s nuclear
deal with Iran, bolstered Netanyahu’s far-right government, and tried to
stop the momentum in Congress against the horrific Saudi-led war in Yemen.

Engel’s supporters criticize Jamaal for his ‘lack of experience,’ but
voting to spend trillions on an unjust war in Iraq should be practically
disqualifying. If Engel refuses to stand up for the ideals of peace, and
for continuing to support America’s involvement in endless foreign wars,
why should we trust him to do the right thing when Trump decides it’s time
to attack Iran?

[ [link removed] ]We can’t. That’s why we’re asking you to donate to Jamaal’s campaign,
because he’s the grassroots candidate up against an entrenched incumbent.
He needs you to win this thing, and we need him in Congress »

If you’ve been considering chipping in to Jamaal’s campaign or any other
progressive Democrat for Congress, today is the best day to do it. After
tonight, every campaign will need to compile and release their FEC reports
— which media and politicos use to gauge the strength of every campaign
and their momentum.

Your donation today helps Jamaal post powerful numbers that send a clear
message to the Democratic Party establishment: the grassroots want a real
champion for peace and justice, not a corporate-backed war hawk.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
