John, the last 12 months have been hard.

Fighting the pandemic hasn’t been easy and we’ve all had to make sacrifices
to keep each other safe.

We’ve all experienced the heartache of losing people from our family and
communities.

Britain needs to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I know that things can get better. I believe that our future can be so much
better than the past.

Today I set out the Liberal Democrats' vision. A vision of the fairer,
greener, more caring country that we want Britain to be.

A country where small businesses, the heart of our communities, are empowered
to drive the economic recovery and create jobs.

A country where we don’t turn a blind eye to misogyny or racism and where
people feel safe to walk the streets of their community.

A country that works and trades freely with our friends and neighbours.

A country that is serious about tackling the climate crisis and leads the
world by example in taking action.

A fairer, greener, more caring country.

That’s the positive vision of the future that the Liberal Democrats are
offering you.

John, if you believe, like me, that Britain’s future can be better than its
past and you want to help change our country - then I need your help.

In May, people all over the country will cast their votes.

When they do, let’s work together to make sure we elect more Liberal Democrats
who will put the recovery first.

Together, we can build the fairer, greener, more caring country we all want
to live in
