Hi ,
Where to even begin....
I'll start with a welcome to all the new folks who've recently connected
with True the Vote. Thank you for your interest and your support.
Frankly, even if you don't support us, thank you for your interest. Of
all the threats to freedom, one of the most dangerous is an apathetic
electorate, so no matter where you are on the political spectrum just
the fact that you are engaged in reading this email is a great
thing. Â
Next, I want you to know that we are about to start releasing
information that we've been working on for many months. It's all a very
long story that will one day be told publicly, but for now, much of it
is in the hands of relevant authorities.
This isn't hyperbole. What we've uncovered needs to be fully
investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Our
findings are the result of countless hours, an amazingly talented team,
and a common bond of confidence in the face of unbelievable adversity.Â
Â
There are so many things I would like to tell you, but it's not the
time. Even still, we've been so quiet about our work for so long that I
wanted to give you some measure of context for what's to come. Please
stay tuned and know that the press releases are only just beginning.
Ok, with all of that as a backdrop ... we are also working hard to
develop resources that will equip you (and everyone you can recruit) to
help stop the exploitation of America's elections.
Lately, the national election-related conversation has been focused on
stopping the passage of HR.1
/ S.1.
We've been writing about this authoritarian mashup since the first time
it was introduced back in 2019
. Yes, this
is the bill's second time around, but this session's version is
exponentially worse than its predecessor. Back then it passed the House,
but not the Senate. Now, with the current Congress, it's possible the
bill could become law. You'll find more information about this in the
"For the Record" section below, but here's my straightforward take: The
bill legalizes election fraud and silences the voice of American voters.
It is the most dangerous piece of legislation I've ever read. I'm not
kidding. It's already passed the House. It won't pass the Senate under
the current rules, but if the Senate changes the filibuster then
anything is possible. If it becomes law, then pro-liberty states will
sue
to
stop it in its unconstitutional tracks. From there it will be a state by
state, county by county battle to preserve honest elections.
So what can you do?
**It's critical that we speak out**
against
any effort taken by the government to devalue our votes. But don't stop
there. Get involved in upholding the integrity of your local elections.
And that, my friend, is what we at True the Vote want to help you do.
Take local action. Safeguard your own electoral backyard. Â
Step one, let's clean up our voter rolls. We are working on a voter roll
research app that will launch within the next few months (software
development is never as easy or fast as we'd all like it to be). Voters
will be able to review their local rolls and present findings to
election officials. Systematically, automatically, and at scale (i.e.,
all over the nation). There are more steps to be sure...educating,
recruiting, training, mobilizing, reporting, but I'll end here for
today.
We're all in this together, my friend. Stay the course. Keep the faith.
Ever onward -
For The Record
Few misnomers are so blatantly and dangerously far from the truth as
that of the 117th House bill H.R. 1 and corresponding Senate bill S.R.1.
Disguised as the "For the People Act", it is anything but that. In
reality, it helps hardly anyone other than the notorious swamp
politicians in Washington. And as with most things out of D.C., the
talking points are sharply different depending on your side of the
aisle.
Let's be clear - this bill is an attack on the Constitution. It is
dangerously overreaching. It hurts all voters, no matter the party. Â
There are over 700 pages of proposed changes in H.R.1/S. 1., extending
well beyond just elections. You can check outthese
synopses
for
a comprehensive overview. Here're just a few HR. 1 highlights:
* bans voter ID
* legalizes ballot trafficking (aka ballot harvesting)
* forces universal ballots by mail
* forces automatic, government-controlled voter registration
* forces same-day registration in all states
* requires ballots to be counted for 10 days after Election Day
It is true that if you are an eligible voter, voter registration should
be simple and the process of casting your ballot should be transparent,
understandable, and attainable. The difference with H.R.1 is that the
bill removes basic, commonsense safeguards from the process and creates
a fraudster free for all. This bill dilutes your vote, silences your
voice, and must be stopped
.
FOR THE RECORD | Q & A
Q: What does **Biden's Executive Order**
on Promoting Access to Voting have to do with HR.1/S.1?
A: This is simply an Executive Order. An E.O. cannot grant powers to the
President that he does not already have. That is an important point here
because, under the Elections Clause, the Constitution gives primary
authority over the election process to the States and not to Congress.
Though Congress can make or alter regulations, they cannot federalize
elections and that is essentially what this E.O. tries to help do. It
also shows Biden's full support for H.R. 1/S. 1 and tells the Nation
that he has every intention of signing the bill into law should it make
it to the Oval Office.
Q: What can I do as a citizen to help prevent this bill from being
passed?
A: . The first thing to do is to understand what is at stake. That's
what we're here for, to empower you with the facts. Then, you should
CALL YOUR SENATOR
.
After all, they are there to listen to what you think and what you have
to say, not the other way around. They can be, and often are, swayed by
public sentiment and feedback. Action over Anger will help keep the
fight against this bill going.
Q: If this bill breaks through the filibuster, what happens next?
A: 60 Senators must vote in favor in order to pass and go to Mr.
Biden's desk. Currently, the Democrats do not have these votes. There
is also the filibuster rule that is still in place. Make no mistake,
this bill has previously passed the House once already. If we are
stripped of the filibuster, there is still work that can be done. Should
a bill to destroy the filibuster rule pass, then we must be prepared and
ready to continue to fight against this. We cannot sit idly by or simply
assume that the filibuster will work. Instead, we will then have to
challenge this in the court of law. True The Vote has every intention of
being prepared to help challenge this past the Senate if it becomes law.
Pro-liberty groups across the country are coming out against this bill.
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with our allies is essential right now. For
the record, if this bill doesn't pass, the fight is not over. If it
does pass, the fight is still not over.

Passing H.R. 1, the 'Crooked Politician's Act'
Voters understand that elections should be conducted at the state and
local levels -- not out of Washington
From Washington Times - America needs to wake up - before it's too
late. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer want to pass the Crooked
Politician's Act (my name, not theirs), and most people don't even
know what's in it. The official legislation H.R. 1 will override state
election laws and unfairly benefit liberals for generations to come. It
is an existential threat to all who believe in freedom and opportunity.
It must be stopped...

Nearly Nine-in-10 Call Voter Photo ID 'Common Sense,' Most Back Limits
on Mail-in Ballots
From Washington Examiner - For the second time this week, a poll has
revealed that huge majorities oppose elements of the House and Senate
versions of "For the People Act," H.R. 1 in the House and S. 1 in
the Senate. In [a new survey], 85% of registered voters said it is
common sense to require photo identification to get a ballot. A previous
survey from the unaffiliated Rasmussen Reports found 75% back photo

A More Modest Version of H.R. 1 Is Still Not Quite Modest Enough
From National Review - H.R. 1 is ... a radical wish list for voting,
elections, political speech, and handouts... Progressive election-law
professor Rick Hasen, in a Washington Post op-ed, concedes that the bill
contains "a wish list of progressive proposals that make it unlikely
to survive debate in the Senate," as well as some that would likely be
found unconstitutional by the courts. Hasen proposes a more modest list
of voting and elections reforms that might...
