The COVID-19 pandemic has laid bare the urgent case for Medicare for All.

We now know that over 27 million Americans lost their employer-sponsored
health coverage during this pandemic, on top of the millions who were
already uninsured. A system that rips away health care from 27 million
people during a pandemic is a fundamentally broken system.

But here’s the good news: Medicare for All was just reintroduced in the
U.S. House. As an official co-sponsor of the bill, I’m ready to continue
building this movement and ensure that every American is guaranteed health
care, no matter what.

Our momentum is at an all time high. More than half the House Democratic
Caucus has signed on to the new Medicare for All bill, and we finally hold
a majority in the Senate.

But a powerful for-profit health care industry will once again try to
stand in our way and stop our progress.

We can’t let them stop us. In order for our movement to succeed, we need
to show Congress that public support for Medicare for All is enormous —
and only growing stronger. We need to unite in our calls for an improved,
more accessible, stronger health care system that supports families across
the country.
