Friend,

As president of the Fairfax NAACP, I’ve advocated for civil rights and racial justice on every level - from leading the charge locally to tackle the school-to-prison pipeline, to building statewide coalitions to win transformational criminal justice reform in our General Assembly.

But right now, Republican-controlled state governments across the country are fighting against the good work of civil rights organizers. More than 250 bills designed to make it harder for Black and brown people to vote were introduced in state legislatures so far this year. Experts are calling these laws a new era of Jim Crow-style voter suppression.

We’re lucky that here in Virginia, we’ve secured and expanded voting rights for all at a time when they are under attack in other states. But make no mistake: if we let the Virginia GOP win in this year’s statewide election, they will roll back the clock on progress and make it harder than ever before for communities of color to cast their ballots. We can’t let them win.

The grassroots movement our campaign is building is ready to crush the GOP at the polls and build on the success we’ve seen in Virginia. Can you chip in to my campaign so I can continue to fight for voting rights - and all civil rights - from the Lt. Governor’s office? »

I’m committed to making sure that the right to vote in Virginia is secured for generations to come. I won’t quit until all barriers to voting are taken down for marginalized communities.

In solidarity,
Sean Perryman
