Hello,

Thursday night the House passed the American DREAM and Promise Act, which Derek proudly co-sponsored. This legislation would provide a pathway to citizenship for our nation's DREAMers -- folks who were born outside of our country's borders but who know no other home than the United States.

Getting this bill signed into law is crucial because right now America's DREAMers are only protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. While DACA gives DREAMers the right to live freely in America, it doesn't grant them full citizenship, and we've seen firsthand the numerous times it's almost been eliminated.

The American DREAM and Promise Act would enshrine the protections of DACA into law and allow DREAMers to gain the rights of full citizenship. Will you join Derek in supporting this legislation and call on the Senate to protect DREAMers?

We need to reform our broken immigration system so that our country lives up to the values enshrined upon the Statue of Liberty, friend. We're a nation of immigrants, and as the son and grandson of immigrants, Derek knows firsthand diversity gives our country strength.

That's one of the reasons why Derek proudly co-sponsored the American DREAM and Promise Act -- and it wasn't the first time. The House majority first passed the American DREAM and Promise Act back in 2019, but then-majority leader Mitch McConnell refused to bring this bill up for a vote in the Senate.

Now, with Democrats finally in control of the Senate, we can get this critical legislation passed.
