Earth Day feels different this year. After four years of playing defense against the Trump administration and their ridiculous and horrific attacks against our environment and our communities, we now have so much to look forward to.
Michael Regan is leading the EPA as an environmental justice champion. Deb Haaland has been confirmed as the first Native American Secretary of the Interior. And Congress passed COVID-19 relief which includes over $100 million in environmental justice grants to measure and address pollution disproportionally harming communities of color.
We know all of you have been fighting for our Earth and building power for people and the planet. It feels good to finally see the progress in the making! But we're not done yet. Earth Day 2021 is another opportunity to show our leaders that climate action and environmental justice are crucial for our communities and our future.
