Hi Friend,
The bad-faith attacks by Republicans on the women of color who have been nominated for cabinet and top-level positions in the Biden-Harris administration are relentless. The hypocrisy and overt racism levelled at Vanita Gupta during hearings was, as Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) said, “a smear campaign, a despicable and rancid campaign to discredit” her. Gupta was measured, consistent, and skillful in her responses.
It is more clear than ever that she is the right person to be the DOJ's next associate attorney general.

Women of color are constantly faced with racist and sexist double standards, and President Biden’s nominees, who have proven themselves again and again, are no exception. We need to step up to defend her and make Her Fight Our Fight.
Gupta is a civil rights hero who has been fighting her whole life to defend the rights and freedoms of others. In 1999, she fought for the freedom of nearly 40 wrongfully convicted People of Color in the small town of Tulia, Texas. She made their fight, her fight - and she won their freedom.
At PowerPAC, we're proud to be working to support People For the American Way by organizing in support of women of color nominees through their #HerFightOurFight campaign. The campaign will mobilize progressive activists to support the executive branch nominations and confirmations of diverse women leaders like Vanita Gupta, Kristen Clarke, Deb Haaland✅ and Marcia Fudge.

We can’t stop once they’re confirmed. We must keep supporting them as they advance the progressive goals we’ve all been fighting to make realities.. We know you’re with us to make sure that women of color no longer have to bring their own chairs to the table. It’s time to bring the table to them. Thank you, Andy Wong President of PowerPAC |
