I have always been a strong supporter of our brave men and women in uniform and am always proud to back the blue. This week, I reintroduced the Protect and Serve Act, legislation that would create federal penalties for individuals who deliberately target local, state, or federal law enforcement officers with violence. 

I spoke on the Senate floor urging my colleagues to pass my legislation.

The men and women in blue in North Carolina and across our country put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities, and we should do the work in Congress to protect them. The Protect and Serve Act boldly sends a message that anyone who commits senseless acts of violence against law enforcement officers will be held accountable.
