I'm a proud public school kid from New Jersey. I did my entire K-12 in South Jersey, and that education helped me become a Rhodes Scholar and a leading national security expert.

Now, I've got a 5-year-old who was supposed to begin kindergarten this year but has been unable to start in person due to the pandemic. Like all parents and caregivers, I worry about every moment that my son is missing out on high-quality classroom learning and priceless interactions with friends and teachers.

We all want to do what's right for our kids, their teachers, and our communities. We want to get them safely back in schools as soon as possible and make up for lost time.

That's why on Monday, I was thrilled to have First Lady Dr. Jill Biden join me for a tour of Samuel Smith Elementary School in Burlington to talk about the American Rescue Plan and the $130 billion it provides for K-12 education.

I am proud of the work we've done to pass this relief package. This is an enormous federal investment in American education. Not only will it cover the cost of cleaning supplies and new educational tools for our students but the American Rescue Plan also requires school districts to use 20% of the money to address what learning students have missed out on over the past year.

I am committed to getting our kids back to school safely -- and I need your help to counter the lies and attacks national groups like the National Republican Congressional Committee, Congressional Leadership Fund, and the American Action Network are spreading about me, misrepresenting my stance on opening our schools.

I'm hoping you'll help me set the record straight.

We're prepared to launch a heavy investment in informative Facebook ads to promote the truth about the work I'm doing in Congress for families back home in Ocean and Burlington Counties. But before we can launch our ads, we need to build the budget for them. Based on the number of voters we need to reach, my team says we'll need to raise $10-$15k.

So today, I am personally asking for your help to build up our Attack Ad Response Budget. If we could raise about $4,500 before midnight, I know we would be able to fund this communications strategy.
