Dear supporters,

We are heartbroken by the recent acts of violence against the Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in the United States and our hearts are with the families of the victims of this week’s attack in Georgia that left eight people dead, six of them women of Asian descent. We’ve now learned the names of a few of the victims: Delaina Ashley Yaun, Hyun Jung Grant, Xiaojie Tan, Daoyou Feng, Paul Andre Michels, Soon C. Park, Hyunn J. Grant, Suncha Kim, and Yong A. Yue.

In the wake to this tragedy, we witnessed a rise in demand for our Bystander Intervention Training to Stop anti-Asian/American and Xenophobic harassment. All our listed free public sessions reached max capacity on Wednesday.

In order to meet this moment, and to do our part in sharing our tools, we worked with our partners over at Asian Americans Advancing Justice to offer four new dates and times for this training. In just a few hours, those training dates have also met max capacity.

We will keep scheduling more dates for free public trainings, and will work to share those with you in the next week.

Our trainings are only part of the work necessary to change our culture.

We believe that every action from a bystander chips away at the culture that makes harassment towards the AAPI community seem acceptable. And there are many ways to take to support in this moment. An important way to take action in support of the AAPI community is to follow and support organizations like Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Stop AAPI Hate, Act to Change, and Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Atlanta.

And if you are Asian/American, we want you to know that we are here for you and we will keep showing up for you.

With Solidarity,

Hollaback!

P.S. Our trainings are all free and funded by your donations. To help us increase the number of trainings offered to provide immediate, additional support to the Asian/American community, please donate now.
