Assalamu'alaykum John,

We at MLFA grieve for the families and friends of the victims of the
Atlanta-area shootings that took place on Tuesday, March 16.

While it's not clear that the suspect's attack was specifically
racially motivated, what is clear is that the Asian American and Pacific
Islander (AAPI) community has been subjected to exploitation, exclusion,
segregation, mass incarceration, discrimination, and violence for over
150 years, with acts of violence against the AAPI community increasing
dramatically over the past few years.

At MLFA our mission is to seek justice for all. The work that we do on
behalf of the Muslim community is specifically designed to set
precedents that help peoples of all races, ethnicities, genders, and
creeds.

We stand alongside our brothers and sisters in the AAPI community in
their push for equality as we stand against bigotry in all forms.
