Hi John,
In a major breakthrough in the fight against Pornhub, 70 Canadian Members of Parliament and Senators from all political parties just sent a strongly worded letter to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, demanding for a full criminal investigation of Pornhub and its parent company MindGeek.
In doing this, Parliament has responded to our collective voices. Just two weeks ago, we sent a joint letter to Parliament along with 525 other NGOs and 104 survivors from 65 countries.
With the powerful unity of a global movement, we called for a criminal investigation into MindGeek. The letter was widely covered in the Canadian press and lawmakers responded.
For the past month, Canada’s Ethics Committee has been conducting their own investigation, which has included overwhelmingly incriminating testimonies from survivors and leaders of the largest child protection agencies in North America.
While their investigation has done a notable job of exposing Pornhub's crimes, this committee will need to rely on the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to do a full-scale criminal investigation.
