John,
The $1.9 trillion relief package passed by Congress and signed into law by President Biden last week was an important start. But it cannot be the end of delivering jobs and care for working people — and it won't be the end if we have anything to do with it.
WFP is working with several grassroots partners to kick off a massive Recovery Recess campaign from March 29th to April 10th while members of Congress are back in their districts to ask them a simple question:
Will you pass a recovery package that will rise to the level of the overlapping climate, racial justice, and economic crises we face — and create millions of jobs in the process?
But we need your support to help launch and sustain this ambitious campaign. Will you rush a contribution right now to make sure organizers have what it takes to stand up dozens of creative events and actions across 14 states?

This is a time in history that demands Democrats go big and bold on recovery — no excuses and no exceptions.
Actions we're taking over these two weeks will include virtual town halls and roundtables with members of Congress; creative events like concerts, block parties, and dance parties outside congressional offices; meetings with members of Congress, and much more.
This work will be anchored by a Time to Thrive National Day of Action on March 31st. A multiracial coalition of organizers will lead grassroots activists across the country in demanding that Congress pass a comprehensive economic recovery and infrastructure bill called the THRIVE Act. Over 100 members of Congress have already endorsed the THRIVE resolution as co-sponsors, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
Millions of working families are depending on Congress to take this once-in-a-generation opportunity and deliver the jobs, care, and justice we so urgently need — and we intend to make them deliver.
Rush a contribution today to help us keep the pressure on Congress to continue the work toward a just recovery that centers jobs and care for working families.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
