Jack -- I just got off the phone with our treasurer, and I wanted to share the news.

Just TWO days after announcing our goal to raise $50k in 10 days to help Marco Contreras win in the Special Election in AD79, we're already 60% of the way to meeting it!

This is HUGE.

The fact of the matter is that we HAVE to be prepared for some nasty tricks the Democrats will play on Marco at the very last second in an effort not to embarass Gavin Newsom. After all, Newsom GAVE AWAY this seat for the taking -- and if we are successful, it would be the ultimate insult after also facing a recall.

To embarrass him, though, we HAVE to raise enough to win this fight.

While a lot of the news continues to be on the huge gains the Recall Gavin Newsom campaign is making to being on the ballot, weâre closely tracking one election few are talking about: the Special Election to fill the open Assembly District 79 seat.

Democrats are fixated on winning this race because it would be a MAJOR embarrassment for Gavin Newsom to lose this seat to a Republican who wants to re-open California after sending its previous Democrat occupant to become a bureaucrat in Sacramento!

HEREâS THE THING: Ballots first hit mailboxes last week â and now, weâre less than 23 days from the election! We have a REAL chance to win this race, and weâre all working overtime to getting our endorsed candidate Marco Contreras elected.

That means weâre in neighborhoods making sure Republicans know Marco is the endorsed Republican, and making sure the battlefield is set once heâs across the finish line. It also means Iâve set a new goal for the Republican Party of San Diego County to raise another $50,000 in 10 days to blow away the dirty tricks Democrats will use against Marco at the last second.

That also means if only 1000 Republicans in San Diego contribute $50, weâre WELL on our way to getting the resources we need to getting Marco in the Assembly.
