** We stand with the Asian American community against racism and hate.

We are saddened and angered by the latest mass shooting in Atlanta this past Tuesday, which targeted mostly Asian and Asian American women. Violence towards Asian Americans has more than doubled during the pandemic, and has disproportionately affected women. We condemn these brutal attacks as hate crimes and ask our leaders to protect vulnerable communities in these troubling times.

As Congressman Andy Kim stated earlier this week, “Tragedy sits at the intersection of multiple broken parts of our society. To honor victims and save lives, we must make progress across all.”

Our hearts go out to the victims’ families and we demand justice for:
* Julie Park
* Hyeon Jeong Park
* Delaina Ashley Yaun
* Xiaojie Tan
* Daoyou Feng
* Paul Andre Michels
* And the two others that have yet to be named

We stand with the Asian American community against racism and hate.
