Brighter days are ahead!

Are you looking forward to the Spring weather?

The team at Families in Transition is excited about Spring! This period of crisis has been testing us all, and we believe brighter days are ahead. We are committed to advancing our mission this year through continued work serving people experiencing homelessness. We have worked with our health partners to provide vaccinations to our frontline workers and program participants who are among the most vulnerable in our community.

As this opportunity continues to open up to more and more community members, we look forward to the days where we can connect with you again as updates to safety guidelines are rolled out in the "new normal" ahead of us. For now, we still have several opportunities to stay connected to our mission through events, volunteer opportunities, and more!

A Special Thanks to Our Friends at Bernstein Shur

Bernstein Shur recently made a $30,000 financial contribution to support our new Food Pantry. Their donation will help facilitate continued growth in our food programs and increase our ability to serve people experiencing food insecurity in our community. Please contact our team at [email protected] to align your philanthropic goals to one of our many programs this year.

The Employee Appreciation Never Stops

Last week we celebrated Employee Appreciation Day, and we really can never celebrate our amazing team at Families in Transition enough. They do the hard work that keeps our mission going. You can join in and acknowledge them on our Facebook page as they continue their efforts to prevent and break the cycle of homelessness.

Providing a comprehensive and effective fatality prevention model of service in Manchester

This winter, we supported dozens of our community members who would have otherwise been sleeping outside during the coldest New England nights with warm shelter, case management services, and meals. Our partnership with the City of Manchester provided a comprehensive and effective fatality prevention model of service, the first of its kind in our organization's history and in Manchester.

As these temporary emergency services conclude at the end of the month, we are grateful to have served as many as 70 people on the busiest nights, in addition to the 110 individuals we can currently support at our Adult Emergency Shelter. In these efforts, every person who utilized one of the temporary shelters is now connected with comprehensive services, including case management, managed care providers, and mental health services.

Our leadership and our case management teams continue to do everything within our power to locate suitable arrangements for individuals experiencing homelessness. Our emergency homelessness services and outreach efforts will carry on. We will remain steadfast in our support of the most vulnerable population through our housing and food programs. And, we will continue to work toward our goal of expanding affordable housing inventory through an already planned development project that will add 11 units of supportive housing in Manchester during 2022.

Last year, our community helped us accomplish amazing things! Interested in helping make a greater impact...
