Design, delivery, and evaluation of youth arts projects
------------------------------------------------------------

Adapted for delivery online, this training will equip participants with an overview of the skills necessary to design, deliver, and evaluate a youth arts programme. It will explore an understanding of the youth work elements in youth arts projects, and provide participants with an overview of the project management lifecycle. Register here >> ([link removed])



** Sustainable development games
------------------------------------------------------------

Our STEAM in Youth Work programme, in partnership with the NYCI Youth 2030 Global Youth Work and Development Education programme, Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT), and Trócaire, has developed a online CPD training programme that will enable youth workers to use games to strengthen their practice while focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals and development education issues of concern to the young people they work with. ** Rethinking impact: Legacy and evaluation in a global youth work context

Evaluating outcomes in a global youth work context is vital in measuring social change and showing the change effect of the work to a wider audience. We want to create an opportunity to think about evaluation work and how global youth work programmes might contribute to understanding how change making happens in practice. ** Live webinar: Volunteering in a changing world

For this webinar, the Child Protection Programme has partnered with Volunteer Ireland to look at how societal changes are impacting the way people volunteer. We will look at virtual, micro, and episodic volunteering as ways of engaging new volunteers and how we can keep our current volunteers engaged when volunteering in person isn’t possible. Global issues that matter to YOUth: Youth consultation to inform Irish Aid strategy

Irish Aid is developing a new strategic plan for 2021 to 2024 and wants to hear from young people aged 16 to 30. This online consultation will consider what the big issues are affecting our world today and what young people think should be done about them. Learn more >> ([link removed])


** Covid-19: guidance for youth services

We continue to work with officials in the department to revise the guidance in response to any new restrictions and will continue to update the Guidance for Youth Organisations on Resuming Full Services ([link removed]) . We will also update the official DCEDIY/NYCI Covid Induction for Youth Services

** Idea and learning exchange: Gaisce Wavelength project

This practical two-hour session will gather those who are supporting young people with refugee status or who are asylum seekers and who are between the ages of 14 and 25. Helium Arts seeks visual artist
------------------------------------------------------------

Helium Arts, the national children’s arts and health charity, is seeking a professional multi-disciplinary visual artist to develop its Remote Creative Health Programme for teenagers with long-term health conditions this year. The role will design and deliver a pilot programme as well as a future development brief for a programme that can be replicated in the future. Deadline: 17 March. Anti-Racism Month
------------------------------------------------------------

Every year in March, INAR and its network celebrate a month full of events focused on anti-racism, diversity, and equality. It's an important month for both Irish and global anti-racism movements, with national and international dates focusing on combating racism and celebrating diversity taking place. The main focus is on the International Day for the Elimination of Racist Discrimination, taking place on 21 March. Check out the events >> ([link removed])


** Irish Girl Guides to receive European Citizens’ Prize
------------------------------------------------------------

Irish Girl Guides are delighted to have been selected to receive the European Citizens’ Prize in recognition of the organisation’s achievements in promoting awareness of the European Union. Since launching its Europe programme in partnership with European Movement Ireland two years ago, almost 3,000 of its youth members have earned the Europe badge. This involves taking part in age-appropriate activities that help them gain an understanding of the EU and how it affects the lives of Irish citizens. Read all about it here ([link removed]) .

Fundraising Online: #FRO2021

Fundraising Online is a virtual fundraising conference taking place this year from 28-30 April. It will focus on the new and emerging technologies that are so criticial to fundraisers as they move through the pandemic and beyond. DCEDIY releases statement of strategy

The new strategy takes account of various commitments in the Programme for Government for which the department is responsible and covers priorities agreed with Minister Roderic O’Gorman, T.D. It was developed on foot of input received from staff, other government departments, and external stakeholders as part of a wide consultation process. ** HIQA consultation: Draft national standards for children's social services

HIQA has begun a six week consultation to inform the development of the new Draft National Standards for Children’s Social Services. These standards articulate what safe and high quality services should look like and set out what outcomes a child should expect when accessing Tusla services and what a service needs to achieve these outcomes. Call for activities: European Youth Centres

The process for applications for activities to be held in cooperation with the European Youth Centres as part of the Youth for Democracy programme in the first semester of 2022 is now open.
