Dear Team -- 

As we approach the make or break point in our battle with the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more important now than ever to fight this disease head-on. My team and I are working hard to ensure access to the COVID vaccine is distributed effectively to everyone.

There’s a lot of misinformation out there about the research behind the vaccine. The bottom line is the vaccine is safe, effective, and essential to resume normal life. 

To have the greatest impact on preventing hospitalizations and death from COVID-19, Indiana is determining vaccine eligibility using an age-based strategy. Currently, any Indiana resident age 45 and older is now eligible to schedule a vaccination appointment. While the number of shots in arms is growing each week, new eligibility guidelines will continue to be added as the available supply of vaccines increases.

The bottom line is that we can see the light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel, but eligible individuals need to receive their vaccines in order for us to reach it.
