March Madness
March Madness is underway, and the eyes of the sports world are on our state. As a basketball fan, of course I’m excited to have the tournament back. But, more importantly, as a Hoosier I’m proud state leadership has put us in a position to safely host these games at our historic basketball venues throughout Indiana. We didn’t arrive at tip off time by accident. It took teamwork and leadership to get to this point. It is nice to see fans back in seats, even in limited capacity, and is a hopeful sign that we are nearing the end of the pandemic.
And speaking of teamwork, Hoosier Republicans are excited to have a new member—and familiar face—joining our team of statewide officials. Earlier this week, Governor Holcomb named State Representative and Indiana Republican Party Vice Chair Holli Sullivan as our new Secretary of State. Holli is a great choice to lead this important office and we are looking forward to working with her and supporting her efforts through 2022 and beyond. Holli has big shoes to fill and our state will remain ever grateful for Secretary Connie Lawson’s years of service to Indiana.
A different sort of March Madness is happening in Washington DC. A madness of special interest spending, a crisis of the administration’s own making at the border, and the president’s refusal or inability to hold a press conference. For a man who’s spent 50 years in Washington, President Biden’s first 50 days in the White House have been haphazard at best, incompetent at worst. The administration’s only “achievement” has been not messing up Operation Warp Speed and the vaccination role out efforts they inherited from the Trump/Pence Team.
I have faith that the complete Democrat control of Washington will be broken in 2022, but the work to do that starts now. Over the last few weeks, we’ve held our party reorganization elections at the county and district level and I’m happy to welcome our new and returning county and district leaders to the team. We have a lot of work to do between now and 2022!
Thank you
Kyle Hupfer

Governor Holcomb's Week That Was
Continued Investment in Indiana
On Tuesday, Governor Holcomb named Holli Sullivan as Indiana's next Secretary of State. Connie Lawson leaves big shoes to fill, but we're sure that Secretary Sullivan will hit the ground running and continue providing Hoosiers with great government service!
“I’m thrilled Rep. Holli Sullivan has accepted this new leadership role for I know she will serve Hoosiers with the same intellect, integrity and energy she brought to the General Assembly. Secretary of State Sullivan hits the ground running, building on the remarkable work Hoosiers have come to expect from the office during Connie Lawson’s historic tenure.” -Governor Holcomb
This week Governor Holcomb and the Indiana State Department of Health announced that vaccine eligibility has been expanded to Hoosiers aged 45 and up ([link removed]) . Indiana is continuing to set the bar for COVID-19 vaccine administration. During their weekly briefing Governor Holcomb & Dr. Box have said that Indiana has administered 85% of the vaccine doses we have received, up from the national average of 80%. In nearly 3 months time, 2.2 million doses of vaccine have been administered in Indiana. That means 1.3 million unique individuals have been vaccinated with more than 870,000 of those Hoosiers being fully vaccinated against COVID-19! If you are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine visit ourshot.in.gov ([link removed]) or call 211 to schedule an appointment.

HR1 Threatens Election Integrity
Democrat control in Washington could mean weakened election laws and would challenge the very notion of safe and secure elections. Under the Democrat plan, dozens of longstanding voting laws and procedures would be overturned. Things like Indiana’s rock-solid voter ID law would be cast aside by Pelosi, Biden and Schumer. If the Democrats get their way, our elections would be wide open for fraud and abuse.
Indiana is a national leader in election integrity. Our voter ID law is rock solid and has been affirmed as such by the Supreme Court. We don’t need Nancy Pelosi telling us how to run elections in Indiana. HR1 would be a disaster for our nation. This is one of the issues Chairman Kyle Hupfer is zeroed in on in his role as RNC General Counsel. We will fight the Democrat takeover of our elections.
