Dear friend,

Hate should have no home in America.

But the sheer number and scale of recent tragedies shows us the devastating pervasiveness of hate, from El Paso to Pittsburgh to Charlottesville to Charleston and more.

Here's the good news: Congress is taking action.

Just last week, the House of Representatives passed the Domestic and International Terrorism DATA Act, which authorizes research and education activities on acts of mass violence. And now, Congress is considering another bill -- the bipartisan Jabara-Heyer NO HATE Act, named for Khalid Jabara and Heather Heyer who were tragically killed at the hands of white supremacists exactly one year apart. Although their murders were prosecuted as hate crimes, they are not included in federal hate crime data.

Friend, this is where you come in. Tell your members of Congress it's time to pass the Jabara-Heyer NO HATE Act and move us closer to an America where everyone feels safe in their homes and communities.

To fight hate, we must first understand it. And to make meaningful progress toward ending violence against our communities, we must have reliable, accurate data. That's exactly what this legislation requires.

Fighting hate is bigger than any one person, any one organization, or any one community. None of us can fight hate alone. Let your members of Congress know action is long overdue and urge them to pass the Jabara-Heyer NO HATE Act today.

Now is the time for unity -- and for real solutions. Are you in?

Thanks,
Anjali
