Team,
Right now, even in the midst of a pandemic, nearly 100 million people in the United States are uninsured or underinsured. To say this is a moral outrage is an understatement.
But it doesn’t have to stay this way: Congresswomen Pramila Jayapal and Debbie Dingell just reintroduced the Medicare for All Act, and Ilhan joined them as a proud co-sponsor. If Medicare for All finally passes, we can guarantee healthcare to every single person — employed or not, without the cost barriers of copays, private insurance premiums or deductibles.
Medicare for All is not only the bold, transformative, necessary solution we need to replace our broken healthcare system — it’s a popular one, supported by more than half of the House Democratic Caucus and the majority of people in our country, including half of Republicans. The only people it isn’t popular with? Big Pharma and health insurance executives, Republican politicians, and even elected Democrats who stand to profit from our current cruel system.
It’s beyond time our country puts people over profit. Will you join Ilhan by signing on as a citizen co-sponsor of Medicare for All today?
Thank you for fighting alongside Ilhan to ensure that no one goes without the healthcare and prescription drugs they need — especially during this devastating public health crisis.
In solidarity,
Team Ilhan
