John, Republican legislators are dead set on suppressing Black votes. More than a hundred bills have been filed in statehouses across the country that propose devastating restrictions on vote-by-mail and early voting.
A dozen of those bills have been filed in Georgia alone, where Black voters turned out in record numbers in November and January to elect President Joe Biden and flip the U.S. Senate.
This is what happens when Black voices are heard. Republicans know that silencing Black voices is the only way that they can win in states like Virginia and Georgia.
We can defeat them, but we have to act now. Any success they have in passing this suppressive legislation could cost Democrats the White House and the Senate.
