Hi,

Today, Texas Republican Congressman Chip Roy co-opted a hearing on anti-Asian violence to equate lynching with justice.

"There's old sayings in Texas about 'find all the rope in Texas and get a tall oak tree.' We take justice very seriously, and we ought to do that -- round up the bad guys."
-- Chip Roy, Texas Republican Congressman

In the wake of the terrorist attacks in Atlanta, this hearing was supposed to be about stopping anti-Asian hate -- which has been on the rise in the past year, fueled by racist rhetoric just like this from the Republican party. Instead, Chip Roy used it as a platform to glorify one of the darkest parts of American history. We need to act right now to force Roy's resignation before his rhetoric goes any further.

People of color face terror every single day in our country because of comments like this. We've seen how hateful speech adds fuel to the fire of racism, and the harm this kind of rhetoric can do to our communities. We saw it all too painfully this week in Atlanta. And we know that we can abide it no longer.

No member of Congress should be able to glorify lynching and remain in office. Chip Roy is putting Americans in danger. Help us take away his microphone, add your name now to demand Roy's immediate resignation:
