John, it is time for the filibuster to go.

Despite being given a mandate from the American people for change, Republicans are finding any and all ways to take down progressive policies -- and the filibuster is their favorite device in the toolbox.

But the Senate Democrats have the power to end the filibuster once and for all. John: Will you call on them to do so? [[link removed]]

The filibuster allows for a tiny minority of senators to block pieces of legislation.

Historically, the filibuster was used by segregationists to block any sort of civil rights legislation, and since the 1960s, its use has gone up exponentially to block any and all progress.

But Senate Democrats can put an end to it.

John: If we want real, substantive change in this country, we cannot let a minority of Republicans stand in the way via this archaic parliamentarian tool. Will you sign on before midnight to abolish the filibuster? » [[link removed]]
