Friend,

From the moment he came down the golden escalator in 2015, Donald Trump has made countless racist, sexist, and xenophobic remarks and spouted hateful rhetoric -- and since he entered the White House, it hasn't stopped.

His latest Twitter tirade yesterday attacking progressive women of color in Congress was a new low, in which he put his birther hat back on and told Ayanna Pressley, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar that they should "go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came."

There's nothing more un-American than the idea that some citizens are less American than others because of their national origin, their race, or their religion. It's beside the point that as usual, Trump didn't even have his facts straight, since three of the women he attacked were born in the United States and the fourth is a naturalized citizen who has been here since she was a child. The point is that all of them are Americans, who took an oath to serve our country.

This is who Donald Trump is.

This, along with so many other vile comments and harmful policies, show that Donald Trump is still the same man he was when he spread the vile birther lie against Barack Obama, said that Mexicans are rapists, or said there were good people on the side of white supremacists in Charlottesville.

This is who Donald Trump is, but it is not what America represents -- precisely the opposite. Democrats in the House are taking swift action on a resolution to condemn the president's abhorrent comments and stand up for the proposition that no matter your country of origin or your heritage, we're all equal. As usual, Republicans like Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on the other hand are mostly silent. What a surprise.

Trump's harmful words and Republicans' inaction continue to remind us why it's so critical that we not only hold on to our Democratic House Majority in 2020, but take back the Senate and White House too. Will you make a contribution of $5 or more today to ensure we have the resources to do so?
