[1]Women's March

John, we are
outraged.

Fewer than 24 hours after the senseless, violent killings of seven women —
six of them of Asian descent — by a white supremacist gunman in Atlanta,
the majority of House Republicans voted *against* the reauthorization of
the Violence Against Women Act.

If you find the results of this vote difficult to wrap your mind around,
you aren't alone. It's infuriating that the majority of House Republicans
would vote against this landmark legislation that provides resources,
protections, and justice for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual
violence. Especially in the wake of this racist, misogynistic attack on
women.

Every single day the Violence Against Women Act goes without
reauthorization is another day that women go without the critical
protections we need and deserve. And every "no" vote is a dangerous,
insulting vote against women across the country. Women's March is
committed to not only the passage of this bill, but to holding every
Republican who voted against VAWA accountable for their betrayal. That's
why we're coming directly to you for your help to organize and remove them
from office:

[ [link removed] ]Rush a donation of $3 or more to support Women's March's
organizing work to remove these anti-woman legislators from Congress.
Together, and only together, can we power the work it'll take to elect
leaders who won't waver in their commitment to protecting and advancing
the rights of women.

A total of 172 House Republicans — a staggering, and devastating number —
voted against the reauthorization of VAWA.

Why? Because the NRA is not happy that the bill would take away access to
firearms for abusers, specifically intimate dating partners and stalkers.
Now GOP Senators, many of whom are funded by the NRA, are feeling the
pressure to block this bill. It's despicable.

These dangerous "no" votes came less than one day after horrific violence
in Georgia that specifically targeted women of color. These 172 GOP
lawmakers must go. And Women's March is leading that charge.

Together, this team has already generated tens of thousands of signatures
to expel every member of the Sedition Caucus, and we're writing thousands
of letters to defund and replace key anti-woman leaders like Ted Cruz. But
that work can only happen with grassroots support,
John, which is why we're asking you directly:

[ [link removed] ]Will you contribute $3 or more right now to support our
work to hold every single anti-woman member of Congress accountable for
this vote? If this past year has taught us anything, it's that women have
to step up to protect each other — and that's exactly what we're doing at
Women's March.

Thank you for taking action,

Women’s March
