This week in tobacco policy news

Minnesota – The House Preventive Health Policy Division advanced the bill to the Health Finance and Policy Committee a bill that would increase the tax on a pack of cigarettes by $1.50, increase the tax rate on other tobacco products by 2%, and increase the tax cap on premium cigars from 50 cents to $5.

Vermont – The Senate Health and Welfare Committee approved a bill to prohibit the sale of all flavored tobacco products. The bill now moves to the Senate Committee on Economic Development.
