Xavier Becerra is simply not qualified for the position he’s been nominated to fill. Even if he were, his years of hostility to fundamental rights of conscience and free speech demonstrate a clear record that is incompatible with leading an agency whose role includes protecting those very rights.

Issue Brief, The Heritage Foundation
Melissa Moschella, PhD, Visiting Scholar, Simon Center for American Studies
The Equality Act is not about ending unjust discrimination—instead, it is about imposing a radical ideology with sweeping implications on all Americans. The affirmation of biological reality is neither bigotry nor discrimination. And the desire to protect children from confusion or from harmful experimental “treatments” is neither abuse nor neglect: On the contrary, it is a fundamental right and duty of parents rooted in the natural moral law and upheld by the Constitution. Adoption of the Equality Act would not be a victory for civil rights. It would be the imposition of a contested and dangerous ideology on all Americans. The rights of parents and the welfare of children would be among the most tragic casualties.

Protecting children from confusion or from harmful experimental 'treatments' is neither abuse nor neglect, but under the Equality Act it would be treated as such.

Excising the Religious Freedom Restoration Act from the Civil Rights Act of 1964 means that religious freedom must always give way to the Equality Act's destructive gender ideology.

The DeVos Center Joins the Fight Against Gender Theory in the UN
This week the DeVos Center joined two statements to the UN's Independent Expert on protection against violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI IE) for his upcoming report on gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity, which will focus on “gender theory.” One was led by the Women’s Liberation Front, which can be found here; the other was submitted by the International Organization for the Family.
